So here's the deal... my 3 point plan, so to speak.
Somehow, some way, we need to stop talking about the man. We need to be aware, but give him no attention. Don't post anything about him, don't respond to anything about him, don't read anything about him and don't click on anything about him. If half of America gives him no attention, the media will follow eventually. He will lose all trending and become politically obscure. Peek at the google news headlines if you must but don't click on them or he gets more attention. Truly, in this case, the term "he who must not be named" applies.
In the meantime, we need to talk about what we want to see happen in this country. Not about what we don't want to see happen, but what we want to see happen. How we fix healthcare, immigration, social security, pay down the debt, etc. We create what we want, not what we don't want. If we focus on what we don't want, we give power to it and make it more likely to occur. So what do we want? That's the next step.
Then we proceed with the 2020 election like this. Every single race in every county, state and national office needs to be contested and those candidates need to talk about what we want, not what we don't want. How do we create an America we want? For the Presidential election, we see who comes out on top in the primaries, and if it's a centrist, please pick a progressive as your running mate and if it's a progressive, then please pick a centrist as your running mate, and then let's all get together and vote. Plus spend some money to make sure that every polling station across the country has neutral observers, just like we would in a third world country where we're afraid elections might be stolen, because guess what? We're at that point now.
And don't forget, as much as you're tempted, don't post, respond, or click on anything about him. Use "He who must not be named," or some such other nickname if you have to. And focus on what you want to happen. And maybe pray a little. I'll pray too.
